NATURAL HISTORY STUDIO
Discover the hidden wonders of nature in stunning 6K resolution. Recently specializing in seamless timelapse-to-real-time transitions, we capture breathtaking footage of plants, fungi, and even ice, all grown and filmed in-house in the heart of Bristol. From macro details to sweeping natural spectacles, our studio brings the natural world to life like never before.
TIMELAPSE
Here we specialise in capturing the slow-paced dramas of nature, from the growth of plants and fruiting fungi to the delicate process of freezing water. Using advanced 6K technology and custom-built equipment, I can document these processes in unparalleled detail. My expertise allows me to seamlessly blend timelapse and real-time footage, creating dynamic shots that showcase nature’s subtle movements and behaviors, all grown and filmed in-house. Whether it’s the unfolding of a fern or the crystallization of ice, I bring these hidden wonders into focus, revealing nature’s most intricate spectacles.
MACRO
I specialize in bringing the intricate world of insects and other small creatures to life. With expertise in entomological husbandry, I carefully care for and manage these fascinating subjects, creating opportunities to capture their most unique behaviors. I design and build natural-looking sets that authentically replicate their habitats, ensuring a realistic environment for each shoot. Coupled with slow-motion filming and precision lighting, I capture stunning close-up shots of remarkable behaviors—from the delicate movements of insects to the rapid actions that often go unseen by the naked eye.
MOTION CONTROL
I use highly specialized motion control units to achieve precision and creativity in both motion control filming and timelapse. These custom rigs allow me to capture perfectly smooth and repeatable camera movements, bringing dynamic motion to timelapse sequences and real-time shots. By blending these techniques, I can film natural processes—like the growth of plants or the unfolding of a flower—with breathtaking accuracy and control, creating captivating visual stories that reveal the slow, beautiful transformations of the natural world.
